Fieldfisher has advised Lyten on its acquisition of Northvolt Dwa ESS. Wolf Theiss advised Northvolt.

Lyten is a U.S.-based advanced materials and battery technology company.

Northvolt Dwa ESS is a European energy storage systems manufacturing operation, located in Gdansk, Poland.

According to Fieldfisher, the transaction follows the bankruptcy of Swedish battery manufacturer Northvolt AB in March 2025, which marked one of the most significant corporate collapses in recent Swedish industrial history. Northvolt’s Gdansk-based 25,000-square-meter Battery Energy Storage Systems facility came online in 2023 and features equipment to scale production up to 6 gigawatt-hours, with future expansion potential of over 10 gigawatt-hours. The facility is powered by renewable energy and backed by contracted orders through 2026. The firm also reports that, with this acquisition, Lyten plans to immediately restart production and resume sales.

The Fieldfisher included Co-Managing Partner Rafal Stroinski, Senior Counsel Andrzej Zajac, Counsel Bogdan Duda, Malwina Niczke-Chmura, Magdalena Kalinska, and Jan Sarnowski, Associates Malgorzata Nowak and Adam Janczewski, Lawyer Eryk Ryciak, and Trainee Magdalena Borychowska.

The Wolf Theiss team included Partners Izabela Zielinska-Barlozek, Maciej Szewczyk, Grzegorz Skowronski, and Przemek Kozdoj, Counsel Bartosz Kopik, and Associates Michal Pypka, Kamil Krol, and Maria Markowska.
