White & Case has advised Play network operator P4 sp. z o.o. on PLN 5.5 billion in financing obtained from a consortium of financial institutions including main arrangers, original lenders, and financing guarantors Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Raiffeisen Bank International AG, and Santander Bank Polska and Credit Agricole Bank Polska. Allen & Overy reportedly advised the banks on the deal.

Clifford Chance Warsaw has advised Cargounit, a locomotive leasing business in Central and Eastern Europe, on a financing agreement with a consortium of Polish and international banks consisting of BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A., PKO Bank Polski S.A., Siemens Bank GmbH, Bank Millennium S.A., ING Bank Slaski S.A., Bank Pekao S.A., and Bank Ochrony Srodowiska S.A. Norton Rose Fulbright advised the banks on the deal.

Gide has advised Sierra Gorda S.C.M., KGHM Polska Miedz S.A., Sumitomo Metal Mining CO., LTD, and Sumitomo Corporation on a USD 700 million financing from Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego. Sullivan & Cromwell advised Sumitomo Corporation and Sumitomo Metal Mining as well, while Deloitte Legal advised BGK on the deal.

Sorainen and Greenberg Traurig have advised Allianz SE on its acquisition of life and non-life insurance operations and the pension and asset management business in Poland and Lithuania — including Lithuanian subsidiary Aviva Lithuania — from the Aviva Group. The Aviva Poland business also includes Aviva’s 51% shareholding in life and general insurance joint ventures with Santander: Santander-Aviva Towarzystwo Ubezpieczen Na Zycie S.A. and Santander-Aviva Towarzystwo Ubezpieczen S.A. Wiercinski, Kwiecinski, Baehr, working with lead counsel Slaughter and May, advised Aviva on the deal in Poland, and Cobalt advised Aviva on Lithuanian aspects. Rymarz Zdort advised Santander.
