Eversheds Sutherland Advises Sequoia on EUR 38.5 Million Financing for Green Genius Polish PV Plants

Eversheds Sutherland has advised investment advisor Sequoia Investment Management on a EUR 38.5 million agreement between the Sequoia Economic Infrastructure Income Fund and Green Genius aimed at financing the construction of a 66-megawatt portfolio of photovoltaic plants in Poland.

According to Eversheds Sutherland, “Green Genius plans to complete the construction of plants in Poland in early 2023. It is the first debt funding between the Sequoia Economic Infrastructure Income Fund ... and Green Genius. Since 2019, Green Genius has already developed three solar PV portfolio projects in Poland, with a total accumulated capacity of 128.1 megawatts.”

The Sequoia Economic Infrastructure Income Fund, a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index of the London Stock Exchange, invests in a portfolio of economic infrastructure debt investments in mature jurisdictions. Sequoia Investment Management, the investment adviser to the fund, is an infrastructure debt investment management company based in London.

Green Genius is a renewable energy developer operating in eight European countries. It is part of the international Modus group that operates in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Spain, and Poland, among others.
