Suciu Popa and Dentons have advised SNGN Romgaz on its acquisition of the ExxonMobil subsidiary that owns 50% of the rights and obligations for the Neptun Deep project in the Black Sea. Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen advised the seller.

Greenberg Traurig has advised Eastnine on its EUR 121 million acquisition of the Nowy Rynek D office property from Skanska. Dentons advised the seller.

Bondoc si Asociatii has advised the Bucharest Municipality on the private placement and admission to trading of 55,500 bonds with a total issuance nominal value of RON 555 million. The issuance was intermediated by a syndicate of BRD Groupe Societe Generale and Raiffeisen Bank. In August 2021, the Czech Supreme Court issued a ruling in which it found a provider of a file-sharing service liable for infringement of Czech laws against unfair competition. The decision takes a somewhat unorthodox approach to unfair competition, as it recognizes that particular business models benefitting from “free riding” may in themselves constitute an unlawful practice. For a European audience, it may also be interesting to learn how the court disapplied the safe harbor liability exception for hosting services and how the CJEU’s case law influenced the judgment.
