Zamfirescu Racoti Vasile & Partners has advised Transport Trade Services on the EUR 21.8 million acquisition of a 99.9% stake in Constanta port operator Decirom.

According to the firm, the acquisition of Decirom "marks the consolidation of TTS Group’s position as one of the most important players in the Romanian transport market and the largest freight carrier in the Danube basin."

Romania's TTS was set up in 1997 and offers multimodal transport services: river/maritime and land transport of bulk and packed commodities goods, freight forwarding from Constanta up to Kelheim, handling of goods and equipment in the Danube ports and Constanta, and door to door transportation.

Decirom has been active in the port of Constanta for over 70 years. It focuses on attracting new flows of goods (such as bulk goods requiring high productivity technology) and the diversification and development of new capacities for loading/unloading, especially in building materials, agricultural products, and metallurgical products. It works with over 100 corporate clients.

The ZRVP team included Partners Catalin Micu, Elena Iacob, and Ioana Hoeckl and Senior Associates Denisa Neamtiu, Oana Marinescu, Adina Rotaru, Alexandra Nania, Marcela Antoniu, and Laura Burtan.

ZRVP was unable to disclose further information on the deal.
