Sayenko Kharenko has advised UK Export Finance on a GBP 1.7 billion export loan provided to Ukraine under a UKEF guarantee.

According to Sayenko Kharenko, the 19-year facility, announced at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome, will enable the procurement of over 5,000 air defence missiles from UK-based defence company Thales. The deal marks the largest export credit agency-backed transaction in Ukraine’s history and a significant milestone in the growing UK-Ukraine defence partnership.

Earlier in 2025, Sayenko Kharenko advised UK Export Finance, Deutsche Bank, and Barclays on a EUR 181 million facility to Energoatom (as reported by CEE Legal Matters on April 9, 2025).

The Sayenko Kharenko team included Partner Anton Korobeynikov, Senior Associate Oles Trachuk, Associate Yevhen Koval, and Trainee Artem Medvetskyi.
