Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii has announced six new partners in its most recent promotion round. As of January 1, 2022, the firm’s new Partners are Mihai Anghel, Oana Gavril, Catalina Mihailescu, Andreea Oprisan, Alexandra Peres, and Alina Ungureanu.

Mihai Anghel is a Partner with Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii’s employment practice group. According to the firm, Anghel “has over 17 years of professional experience in employment and labor law ... [on] matters ranging from hiring and firing, discrimination and harassment, performance appraisals, remuneration and benefits, to union issues and collective bargaining agreements, cross border transfer of undertakings, immigration matters, cross-border secondments, etc.” Anghel has been with the firm for ten years. Prior to that, he spent over two years with NNDKP.

Oana Gavril became a Partner in the litigation and arbitration practice group. According to Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii, “she has extensive experience in complex litigation in legal areas such as administrative and fiscal law, labor and civil law, including matters of real estate and matters of corporate law. For the past 14 years, Oana has conducted numerous disputes ... [and] was involved in complex international arbitral proceedings.” Gavril, a former Managing Associate, is a graduate of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University.

Catalina Mihailescu is a Partner specializing in insolvency and liquidation as well as civil and commercial litigation. According to Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii, with 20 years of broad expertise, Mihailescu “is highly skilled in providing legal assistance and representation concerning complex corporate restructuring and reorganization of companies through court procedures or out-of-court negotiations, including complex debt restructuring/debt recovery projects.”

Andreea Oprisan is a Partner with the firm’s competition group, with 15 years of legal practice. According to Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii, Oprisan “combines legal and economic competition law tools in view of supporting clients’ projects and handling the full range of competition law issues from antitrust and compliance matters to merger control and state aid. Other areas in which [she] advises clients on a day-to-day basis include consumer protection, advertising, unfair competition practices, and commercial/contract law.” Oprisan, who has been with the firm since 2008, has also spent over two years with David and Baias and over a year with Pachiu & Associates.

According to Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii, with 15 years’ experience, Alexandra Peres is a Partner who “specializes in the areas of real estate, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial, and banking and finance. She is a highly skilled real estate lawyer, with a particular focus on construction and urbanism, retail, office, and the energy sector.”

Alina Ungureanu, according to the firm, has over 18 years of practice in commercial litigation, and domestic and international arbitration. “She has extensive experience in judicial proceedings related to the enforcement phase, including the recognition and enforcement in Romania of court decisions or arbitration awards issued by international courts.” She has been involved in insolvency, reorganization, and bankruptcy proceedings as an insolvency practitioner, since 2008. Prior to joining Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii in 2021, Ungureanu has spent over ten years with Petrescu, Serban & Asociatii.
