Nyerges & Partners has advised Shikun and Binui Energy on a EUR 40.5 million loan from Raiffeisen Bank International AG and Raiffeisen Bank Romania for a 70-megawatt photovoltaic project in Satu Mare. CMS reportedly advised Raiffeisen Bank.

Shikun & Binui Energy specializes in the development, financing, construction, and operation of power generation plants based on renewable energies, such as solar energy, hydro, wind, and natural gas.

According to Nyerges & Partners, “the project is one of the first utility-scale PV projects in Romania in the last decade having completed a financial close under non-recourse conditions.”

Nyerges & Partners had also advised Shikun & Binui Energy on the engineering, procurement, and construction agreement with CJR Renewables for the development of the same project, ten days earlier (as reported by CEE Legal Matters on March 8, 2023).

The Nyerges & Partners team included Managing Partner Mihaela Nyerges, Of Counsel Doina Anghelescu, Senior Associate Monica Cune-Ghitescu, and Junior Associate Diana Dulama.
