Suciu Popa Successful for Enel in ICC Arbitration Against Romanian State

Suciu Popa has successfully represented Italian energy company Enel in an ICC arbitration against the Romanian state in Paris.

The dispute, which arose from a privatization contract, was valued at over EUR 130 million.

According to Suciu Popa, "SAPE, a management company for state-owned stakes in energy companies coordinated by the Ministry of Energy, claimed the distribution of the profits retained until 2017 pertaining to Enel Distributie Muntenia and Enel Energie Muntenia." According to the firm, in its ruling, the Arbitral Tribunal dismissed SAPE’s claims in their entirety.
