Long-time Romanian Magistrate Constantin Branzan has joined Popescu & Asociatii's Litigation and Arbitration Department in Bucharest.

Popescu & Asociatii describes Branzan as "a renowned jurist, with a doctoral degree and a postgraduate degree in civil law," and reports that "he has solid expertise, acquired during a long judicial career, including as a judge at the High Court of Cassation and Justice, where he has been active for more than 15 years, a period within which he also held the position of Director of the National Institute of Magistracy."

According to Popescu & Asociatii, "after completing his career as a judge, he regained the status of arbitrator and supra-arbitrator at the International Commercial Arbitration Court of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as at the Court of Commercial, Maritime and River Arbitration, at the Chamber of Commerce, Navigation and Agriculture Constanța."

"I am honored to join the extraordinary team of Popescu & Asociatii," Branzan said, "and I am sure that together we will be able to develop the practice areas for which they are recognized, as well as the client portfolio. At the same time, I believe that together we can bring even more value to the Popescu & Asociatii litigation department, recognized on the market by both clients and specialized publications."

"In this time of uncertainty, companies need stable and experienced teams of lawyers to manage files in a responsible manner," added Octavian Popescu. "Mr. Branzan comes with impressive experience in the local judicial system and shares the same principles and values with Popescu & Asociatii team members, both seniors and juniors: excellence, responsibility, rigor and ethics in the legal profession. It is a joy to have alongside a professional of this calibre and I am confident that together we will build the strongest litigation team in Romania."
