Wiercinski Kwiecinski Baehr Partners Anna Flaga-Martynek, Marta Midloch, Marcin Smolarek, Maciej Szambelanczyk, Anna Wojciechowska, and Anna Wyrzykowska have become Equity Partners, while Counsels Agata Szczepanczyk-Piwek, Sergiusz Urban, and Jordan Zafirow have been promoted to Partner, as of January 1, 2022.

Flaga-Martynek is a Co-Head of the firm’s Infrastructure Projects practice, since 2016, providing support on infrastructure projects, dispute resolution, and publicly-funded projects. She has worked at WKB since 2005, having first joined as a trainee attorney-at-law in the litigation department. Flaga-Martynek was promoted to Of Counsel, in 2008, and to Partner, in 2015.

Midloch specializes in infrastructure projects, capital markets, public procurement, M&A, sustainable development, and restructuring & insolvency. She joined the firm in 2014 as a Senior Associate and was promoted to Counsel, in 2017, and to Partner, in 2019. Midloch is a Co-Head of WKB’s Infrastructure Projects practice and Capital Markets team.

Smolarek has expertise in banking & finance, restructuring & insolvency, private equity, and ESG. He joined the firm five years ago as a Partner. Prior to that, he worked at Wardynski & Partners for over twelve years. Smolarek is the Head of WKB’s Banking and Finance practice.

Szambelanczyk specializes in energy law and has experience in the infrastructure and municipal sectors, commercial law, corporate restructurings, and real estate. He has been with WKB since 2004. Szambelanczyk is a Co-Head of the firm’s Energy Practice.

Wojciechowska’s areas of expertise include company law & corporate governance, start-ups, the german desk, and private equity. She joined WKB in 2013 as a Senior Associate and was promoted to Counsel, in 2016, and Partner, in 2018. She heads the firm's Company Law & Corporate Governance team and the German Desk.

Wyrzykowska specializes in real estate & property development, M&A, company law & corporate governance, the french desk, private equity, and ESG. She joined WKB in 2012 as an Advocate and became a Partner in 2018. As of 2017, Wyrzykowska is the Head of the Real Estate and Property Development practice, as well as the French Desk at WKB.

Szczepanczyk-Piwek focuses on capital markets and banking & finance. She has been with the firm since 2017 when she first joined as a Senior Associate. Szczepanczyk-Piwek was promoted to Counsel in 2018. She also co-heads the firm’s Capital Markets practice.

Urban specializes in Polish and EU environmental law, nature preservation law, and geological and mining law. He joined WKB in 2011 and has since been heading the firm’s Environmental Law practice.

Zafirow specializes in dispute resolution and business criminal law. He joined WKB in 2010 as a Senior Associate and was promoted to Counsel in 2019.
