Sorainen has successfully represented Gintarine Vaistine and Limedika in an antitrust case before Lithuanian courts, resulting in the annulment of over EUR 25 million in cartel fines imposed by the Lithuanian Competition Council.
According to Sorainen, the LCC had accused the pharmaceutical companies of unlawful coordination during lobbying efforts, claiming they jointly submitted data to the Ministry of Health, which influenced the approval of new regulated mark-ups. However, the court found the LCC’s claims baseless, ruling that joint lobbying by competitors does not constitute cartel behavior. The ruling may still be appealed.
The Sorainen team included Partner Daivis Svirinas and Associate Auridas Litvinas.
