Dentons Advises Banks and EKF on PLN 674 Million Financing for EDP Renewables’ Wind Farms

Dentons has advised Banco Santander, Santander Bank Polska, the EIB, CaixaBank, and Denmark´s EKF Export Credit Agency on a PLN 674 million financing to EDP Renewables subsidiaries. Allen & Overy reportedly advised EDPR.

The funds will be used "for the development, construction, and operation of six wind farms with a total capacity of approximately 150 megawatts," in Poland, Dentons informed. "The EIB’s share in the financing totals PLN 304 million while Banco Santander, Santander Bank Polska, and CaixaBank are providing the remaining PLN 370 million of the financing, partly backed by an ECA guarantee provided by the EKF."

The wind farm portfolio includes six wind farms in Kozlowo, Krasin, Lichnowy, Chojnice, Piatkowo, and Bogoria. According to EDPR, "all of these wind farms are part of the sale agreement executed with Mirova, and disclosed to the market last August," (as reported by CEE Legal Matters on August 17, 2021).
