Gide has advised Sierra Gorda S.C.M., KGHM Polska Miedz S.A., Sumitomo Metal Mining CO., LTD, and Sumitomo Corporation on a USD 700 million financing from Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego. Sullivan & Cromwell advised Sumitomo Corporation and Sumitomo Metal Mining as well, while Deloitte Legal advised BGK on the deal.

Sierra Gorda entered into a credit facility agreement with BGK, with KGHM Polska Miedz, Sumitomo Metal Mining, and Sumitomo Corporation providing corporate guarantees.

Sierra Gorda is a mining operation in the Antofagasta region of Chile, producing copper and molybdenum concentrate. KGHM Polska Miedz S.A. is one of the largest companies in Poland, a producer of copper and silver, with six working mines in Canada, Chile, and the United States.

Sumitomo Metal Mining, founded in 1590, is currently the third-largest producer of copper and the largest producer of nickel and gold in Japan. Sumitomo Corporation, founded in 1919, is one of the eight largest companies in Japan.
