BWHS Wojciechowski Springer i Wspolnicy has successfully represented Magna Polonia S.A. in an eight-year competition court dispute with Emitel S.A.

According to the firm, Magna Polonia pursued "civil claims in terms of violation of competition rules by Emitel," with the BWHS explaining that the case relates to the "consolidation of the Polish broadcasting market (broadcasting services for radio and television) conducted by Emitel in 2012-2013. During [the] trial Magna Polonia proved that Emitel disclosed and used confidential business information of a company from Magna Polonia’s portfolio in the process of application [sic] for a contract for services granted to a multiplex of the fourth digital terrestrial television and in the acquisitions of the operating companies."

"On July 2, 2021, the District Court in Warsaw of the first instance delivered a ruling and awarded Magna Polonia PLN 163,7 million (EUR 35,8 million) together with interest which gives a total amount of PLN 263 million (EUR 57,6 million) to be paid by Emitel," the firm announced.

The BWHS team representing Magna Polonia consisted of Partners Andrzej Springer, Miroslaw Skrycki, and Miroslawa Zytkowska-Kocik.
