Greenberg Traurig and DLA Piper Advise on Abris Capital Partners’ Acquisition of Scanmed

Greenberg Traurig has advised Abris CEE Mid-Market Fund III L.P., managed by Abris Capital Ltd., on the acquisition of the Scanmed S.A. healthcare provider from Life Healthcare Group Holdings Limited. DLA Piper advised Life Healthcare Group Holdings on the transaction.

Closing remains subject to antitrust clearance and the consent of the South Africa Reserve Bank.

Abris Capital Partners is an independent private equity fund manager, investing in Central Europe, that has an investment capital of over EUR 1.2 billion. According to Greenberg Traurig, Abris “seeks to identify, and partner with, the most successful and dynamic mid-market businesses with a high potential and has completed over 26 investments in Poland and Central Europe over the last decade.”

“Scanmed is one of the largest private entities operating in the health care system in Poland and the second-largest private cardiac care provider,” reports Greenberg Traurig. “For over a decade Scanmed has been offering its patients access to comprehensive treatment methods, high-quality medical equipment, and experienced specialists. It operates in 42 locations throughout Poland, providing hospital treatment, basic medical care, specialist consultations, and advanced diagnostics.”

And, according to DLA Piper, “Life Healthcare Group is a market-leading international, diversified healthcare provider with over 33 years’ experience in the South African private healthcare sector. The group currently operates from 66 healthcare facilities in Southern Africa and offers acute hospital care, acute physical rehabilitation, acute mental healthcare, renal dialysis, and employee health and wellness services. The Group owns Alliance Medical Group, the leading independent provider of medical imaging services in western Europe, operating across ten international countries.”
